Senior Software Engineer

Remote candidates encouraged to apply.

Harmonix is seeking a senior software engineer with deep game development experience to aid in developing our upcoming music focused games. You've shipped a few games, perhaps led a small team, and you're an expert at leveraging that experience forward into new and unfamiliar problem spaces. In this role, you'd be responsible for varied game development tasks such as core gameplay iteration, 1st party platform integrations, as well as collaborating and supporting your peers in the design and art disciplines.  We work primarily in UE4, though if you’ve worked in an in-house engine or have other low-level C++ experience you should fit right in.

This position will report to the project Engineering Lead. Harmonix is an independent game development studio that has been developing music entertainment experiences for over 20 years. We've created major franchises like Rock Band and Dance Central, and we've got the next one cooking behind the scenes. Come help us make the next great music game.

  • Tackle and solve open-ended game development challenges to advance the state of the art in music games.
  • Work with designers, artists, musicians, and other programmers to bring new titles to life across multiple platforms.
  • Support and mentor less-experienced members of the engineering team.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience programming C++ in a professional environment
  • 4 years of experience with game-related programming
  • A demonstrated ability to build robust, complex, maintainable systems
  • Experience working creatively and cooperatively with a cross-discipline team
  • A demonstrated ability to quickly understand new processes and technologies
